How To Manifest Your Dream Job
Last Updated on January 16, 2026
Not yet in a job or career you love? Dreaming of manifesting your dream job instead?
Confession: This used to be me, too, sis. I used to work a job I absolutely hated. I would get up and go sit in a cubicle in a business park every day, feeling like I was watching my life force slip right out of me.
Back then, I often felt trapped or like I could never change anything. However, while was sitting there feeling sad, I also began to dream. In fact, that’s when I first hatched the plan that I was going to quit and move to Europe to do my own thing.
Quite literally, you would not be reading this if I had never followed those dreams. So trust me, things can change for the better, no matter what your current circumstances might be!
For me, entrepreneurship was the right answer. But I know that’s not an option for everyone. Many people are more comfortable with a 9-5 rather than going out on their own. So, it’s with that in mind that I’m writing this guide for you today.
Today’s post is for you, whether you’re just starting out in your career, you’re currently in a job that underpays or undervalues you, or you know exactly what you want to do but just haven’t figured out how to get there.
Please know that you have much more control over this than you currently think! Manifestation is a powerful tool to help you get exactly what you want and deserve.
So buckle up, sweetie cake! Let’s dive into the world of manifesting your dream job.

What Is Manifestation and How Can It Help Your Career?
Maybe right now you’re wondering what manifestation is and how it can help you reach your professional goals. Simply put, manifesting is turning something from an idea into a reality. It’s the thought that you use the power of your mind to attract what you want into your life (aka your dream job).
I know that sounds Woo Woo at first but hear me out. Manifesting isn’t just about thinking and wishing about achieving your goals. A big piece of the practice is about taking action and creating habits. So while the law of attraction plays an essential role in manifesting, it’s also about how we use intentionality through action and habits to create a life we love.
The bottom line is: you can create what you want and that all begins with deciding you can do it.
6 Steps To Manifest Your Dream Job
Step 1: Dream Big (Really Big!)
When you were a kid, people were always asking you “What do you want to be when you grow up?” But somewhere along the way, we stop asking each other that. In fact, you’re supposed to graduate high school or university knowing exactly what you want to do, despite the fact that you have little to no real life work experience at that point.
But our personality is always in flux. Our interests and strengths change over time. What you wanted when you were sixteen or thirty-two might be a lot different than what you want at forty or sixty. That doesn’t mean anything has gone wrong! It’s normal.
That’s why, when it comes to manifesting a new job, it’s important to take a step back and begin by dreaming big. You might be working minimum wage right now or maybe you have a boss who overlooks your contributions. Work might feel difficult or challenging or even scarce.
But for now, it’s time to stop thinking about all of that stuff and start coming back to what you really want—not what’s the next logical step, not what your parents want, and not what society expects from you.
Authentic desire is truly the key to unlocking our best life. Does that mean you’re going to manifest your dream job tomorrow? Not always. Sure, that might happen. But it’s more likely that dreaming big will simply give you some valuable information about what’s true and important for you—and that will always pay off, even if it takes time.
So for now, throw all judgement, fear, and doubt out the window. Then let your mind wander and see where it takes you. Notice what you feel curious about, what you feel excited about and even what you feel jealous seeing other people doing! The world is full of possibilities, including in our careers. But you’ll never see those possibilities if you’re talking yourself out of dreaming.
For now, it’s okay to notice some general ideas and to hold those ideas loosely, as we’ll get more specific in the next steps.
Step 2: Get Clear on the Dream Job You Want to Manifest
Jobs and career paths are a lot more unique and varied than you might think! What’s a dream job for you is entirely different than what your best friend would dream of. And I don’t just mean the general area of work. There’s a lot more that goes into your dream position than that.
Many of us have had the experience of working for The Boss From Hell. Maybe that job wasn’t that great (or maybe it was). But it was all made unbearable by someone lacking communication skills or emotional intelligence.
In manifestation, specificity is magic. Oftentimes, people shy away from specificity, but that also show that they’re shying away from what they really want. So let’s get specific.
Think about what kind of office environment you want to work in. A big company? Remote work? Even if you’re building your own business, what would that ideally look like for you? WeWork? Creating your own gorgeous home office? Becoming a digital nomad? Our modern world offers so many options. It’s simply up to you to pick or to try out a few different options.
Next, think about the types of people you want to work with. If you had a boss, what would be their overall vibe? Do you want friendly coworkers or do you prefer a more competent and quiet vibe? Do you want a loud open office environment with lots of laughing and a company dog or would you prefer to work in solitude? These might sound like small details, but it’s smart to know what makes you tick. Also, you might not get exactly what you want right away, but it’s always smart to know what the goals are.
Think about your overall work-life balance. Many people truly love the hustle and would happily spend hours in the office, while for others, it’s just a paycheck, and they’d rather have more free time. Of course, your current life phase and family might impact this, too.
If you want to work for someone else, what companies intrigue you and why? Remember that sometimes a glossy image does not match up with a great working environment. Try to talk to actual current or ex-employees and see what their true thoughts are.
Still can’t figure out a position? Do some research. Look people up on LinkedIn. Ask questions at work and Google the rest. If you don’t know the exact position or company, get curious. What kind of work environment are you after? Which areas would you consider looking for work?
Here are some journal prompts to help you with this:
- What do you think you want to do?
- What is it that lights you up or makes you excited about that job?
- Which of your Core Values is reflected in this potential position?
- What do you think you’d get out of doing that job?
Step 3: Share the Dream Job You’re Manifesting with the Universe
Once you have a clear picture of what you want to manifest, it’s time to share what you’re looking to attract with the universe. In terms of career, this means it’s time to start putting yourself out there!
I don’t always recommend sharing your manifestation intentions with the world. (Sometimes it’s better to move in silence.) But when it comes to your career, this is not the case. In fact, the more that you put it out there that you’re looking for a particular job, the better.
So, take your manifestation goal and write it down. This is a basic form of claiming it and owning it. Next step: verbalize it. At the very least, speak it out loud to yourself fin the mirror. Then when that feels comfortable, start sharing it with family and friends. If you can, write on LinkedIn that you’re searching for a new position.
The more you put this energy out there, the better!

Step 4: Mind Your Mindset
Manifestation is never simply about sitting back and waiting for something to happen. There is always both inner work and real-world work to do in order to align with our goals, especially when it comes to our careers.
Since career and money are interlinked, we tend to have a lot of mindset work to do in this area. In terms of career, that means truly embodying the identity of someone who has the job (or business) that you want, even before you actually get it.
So start thinking about: who is that person? What do they have that you don’t? Then start creating a roadmap for yourself. For example, maybe the version of you with the Big Girl Job dresses differently, or maybe they speak differently: their words are confident and unapologetic. How can you start dressing like her or shifting your words to sound more like her?
This game is often just Fake It Till You Make It. But it works. The magic here is subtle: you’re simply giving yourself permission to become that person right now. Start owning the label that you want to have. For example, change your Instagram bio to Creative Director or Author and start introducing yourself as that.
Honestly, I truly believe that when it comes to what you want to do, what you call yourself is your Number One marketing tool. You just never know when you might run into someone who is looking to hire someone just like you. But they simply won’t know you’re the right person unless you start telling people what you do.
Step 5: Take Action
The Universe simply loves action. It follows action. It rewards action. There are a few reasons for this. First, action creates momentum. Energy goes where attention flows! Putting in the hours is a very real focus of your energy.
Secondly, taking action proves that you are aligning with your goals. There are far too many people in the world who say they want something while taking action that proves the opposite. Your goal is to not be one of those people.
Think of taking action as putting a big yellow sticky note over what you want the Universe’s help with. So don’t let the idea of action scare you.
No, you don’t have to go out and start cold-calling people (unless that’s what you feel called to do, of course!). There’s something to be said for big bold scary action. But you can begin with baby steps: researching companies, or polishing up your LinkedIn or resume.
Start off by listing out some action steps you know you need to tackle. For example: reach out to a former colleague, refresh your portfolio, make a digital business card, take a class, learn a new skill, or go to networking events. No experience? Make yourself some case studies or portfolio projects to highlight your expertise.
As you can see, there are loads of ways to take action towards finding your dream job. Most of us simply tell ourselves there’s nothing we can do as an excuse not to take action.

Step 6: Practice Detachment
Job hunting can be a challenging process, and it can have you severely doubting your abilities or worth. You might face some no’s, or you might have to get a temporary job to tide you over until you get what you really want.
But you must believe in yourself, no matter what.
It’s important to remember that your true worth and your salary are not the same thing. We’ve been told so much that you must “charge what you’re worth,” and we very much judge other people based on their bank accounts. It’s all too easy to mistake our net worth for our true worth.
But you are so much more than your job or career. Even if you’re not yet where you want to be, you must trust in yourself and keep pushing the needle forward.
Instead of sinking into limiting beliefs and negative self-talk, practice the art of detachment.
Think about it this way: if you knew with absolute certainty that you would end up with the job you want, how would you feel about your current circumstances?
Sometimes that’s the perspective you need to keep your chin up or to show up and perform your best right now, even though you’re not there yet.
Where you are right now is not as important as where you’re going. Your biggest job is to keep pushing forward instead of talking yourself out of trying.
As the famous Gretzky saying goes: “You miss 100% of the shots you don’t take.” If you’re busy telling yourself that you suck or you’re worthless, you’re probably not taking those shots.
Manifesting Your Dream Job: The Bottom Line
Ultimately, manifestation is a practical tool that combines clarity, intention, and action to help you achieve your career goals. It’s not about sitting back and wishing. It’s about living intentionally and aligning yourself with what you want.
Remember, you can’t just sit and imagine what you desire, and expect it to come to you! You still have to go out and find that job for yourself. (Or create it yourself from scratch!) But when you combine the power of manifestation with dedicated action, you’ll be amazed at what you can achieve. Your dream job is waiting for you. Now go out there and make it happen.
