12 New Year’s Eve Rituals for Abundance
Last Updated on January 16, 2026
Ready to manifest abundance this New Year’s Eve?
As we stand on the threshold of a new year, we’re granted a precious opportunity to reset, realign, and invite fresh energy into our lives.
This is a magickal moment. What are you calling in for the next year? What do you wish to leave behind?
While you can manifest at any time of year, New Year’s Eve is always one of the most popular dates to set intentions for what you want. And one of the most popular goals for manifesting is always to attract more abundance.
But I mean, who wouldn’t want a little extra dough in their bank account?
So let’s do it. These twelve rituals blend ancient wisdom with modern intention-setting to help you cultivate abundance in all its forms: prosperity, joy, connection, health, and purpose.
12 New Year’s Eve Rituals for Abundance
1. The Midnight Release Ceremony
Just before midnight on New Year’s Eve, write down everything you’re ready to release from the past year on small pieces of paper. This might include limiting beliefs, old grudges, failures you’re still carrying, or patterns that no longer serve you.
As the clock strikes twelve, safely burn these papers (in a fireplace, fire-safe bowl, or outside) or tear them up and bury them. This symbolic act creates space for new abundance to flow in.
2. The Abundance Altar
Create a dedicated space in your home where you place objects that represent different forms of abundance. Include a green candle for prosperity, coins from around the world, crystals like citrine or pyrite, images of goals you want to achieve, and symbols of health and happiness. Spend a few minutes at this altar each morning during the first week of January, visualizing your abundant year ahead.

3. The First Meal Feast
You are what you eat! So let’s make your first meal of the new year intentional and abundant. Include foods traditionally associated with prosperity: greens for money (collard greens, cabbage), legumes for coins (black-eyed peas, lentils), long noodles for longevity, and round fruits for completeness. Share this meal with loved ones, discussing your dreams for the year ahead. The energy you bring to this first meal sets the tone for nourishment throughout the year.
4. The Gratitude Inventory
On New Year’s Day, create a comprehensive list of everything you’re grateful for from the past year. Aim for at least 100 items, going beyond the obvious to include small moments, lessons learned from challenges, and qualities you appreciate in yourself.
One hundred sounds like a big number at first, but choosing 100 really lets you dig into what made your year so special. This practice shifts your focus to the abundance already present in your life, which magnetizes more of it.
5. The Vision Board Ritual
Gather magazines, printouts, quotes, and art supplies. Spend a few hours creating a visual representation of your abundant future. Include images and words that evoke how you want to feel, not just what you want to have. Place this vision board where you’ll see it daily. The key is to spend time with it regularly, feeling the emotions of already living that abundant life.

6. The Coin Blessing
On the first day of the new year, place a coin (the higher the value, the better) in every corner of your home and in every wallet, purse, or pocket you use regularly.
As you place each coin, say: “Abundance flows to me from expected and unexpected sources.” This folk tradition is practiced in many cultures as a way to invite financial prosperity into every area of your life.
7. The Sunrise Intention Walk
Wake early on New Year’s Day and take a walk as the sun rises. With each step, affirm your intentions for abundance. Visualize yourself stepping into your abundant year with each footfall. Notice the beauty around you. That first light touching everything represents new possibilities. For extra points, collect something from nature (a stone, leaf, or twig) during your walk as a talisman for your abundance intentions.
8. The Prosperity Bath
Draw a ritual bath on New Year’s Day with ingredients known for attracting abundance: sea salt for purification, honey for sweetness, cinnamon for prosperity, bay leaves for wishes, and fresh herbs like basil or mint. As you soak, visualize golden light surrounding you, washing away any scarcity mindset and infilling you with abundant energy. Stay in the bath for at least twenty minutes, meditating on your worthiness to receive.

9. The Twelve Wishes Tradition
Write down twelve wishes: one for each month of the year. Be specific and ambitious. Place these wishes in a special box or envelope and seal it. Mark your calendar for New Year’s Eve of the following year to open it.
Many people are amazed at how many of their wishes have manifested. This ritual works because writing crystallizes intention, and then releasing attachment allows the universe to work.
10. The Giving First Principle
Begin your year by giving. Donate to a cause you believe in, volunteer your time, or perform random acts of kindness throughout the first week of January. This counterintuitive approach to abundance acknowledges that you already have enough to share, which creates an energetic flow. What you send out returns multiplied.
11. The Abundance Gratitude Journal
Purchase a beautiful new journal dedicated solely to tracking abundance. Each evening during January (and ideally throughout the rest of the year), record three ways abundance showed up that day.
This might be money received, opportunities offered, compliments given, moments of joy, or anything that made you feel rich in any sense of the word. This practice rewires your brain to notice abundance everywhere.
12. The New Year’s Sound Bath
At some point during New Year’s Day, create a sound ritual to raise the vibration of your space and yourself. Use singing bowls, bells, chimes, or even just your own voice chanting or humming. Move through each room of your home, focusing on clearing stagnant energy and inviting in vibrant, abundant frequencies. If you play an instrument or enjoy music, spend time creating or listening to uplifting sounds that make you feel expansive and alive.
Note:
FYI, you don’t need to practice all twelve of these rituals. Just choose the ones that resonate most deeply with you, or let them inspire you to create your own.
Here’s To A Year of Abundance!
The most powerful aspect of any ritual is the intention and presence you bring to it. True abundance isn’t just about material wealth; it’s about living a rich, full life in body, mind, and spirit. No matter what your circumstances are right now, you can draw in more of this energy.
As you step into this new year, trust that you are worthy of all the goodness flowing your way. The rituals are simply reminders of the abundant being you already are.
Here’s to your most abundant year yet!
